I made a fun jungle/experimental remix of two Sun Ra tunes, “Mu” (taken from Atlantis) and the famous “Door of the Cosmos”.  I had a short deadline for the radio show so the mix was rough and I didn’t really get to spend as much time as I wanted on it, but when do I ever anyway?!  The lads over at the Dublin based All City records had also been doing a series called “Views of Saturn” which was a 3 part series featuring different modern composers/producers remixing/retouching/covering (whatever you want to call it) Sun Ra songs.  The first two parts of the series featured the late Austin Peralta whos life and loss has affected many of us, and LA’s own beatsmith the great Ras G.  I am honored to be the third and final part of this series.  I present to you, Mu / Door of the Cosmos reworked by Machinedrum.

PS! I know its listed as just “Door of the Cosmos” this was due to many issues with licensing etc etc plus the series always includes the original Sun Ra tune on the flip.  So we went with Cosmos as the final title :)
